Moongaze @ Darwin Fringe
Brown's Mart
Moongaze is an acoustic singer-songwriter duo whose love-powered melodies are crafted in riverbeds for singing to friends under the wide desert skies. Spinning stories with folky harmonies and poetic lyrics, they make love songs for the planet, for their fellow humans, and for each other.
The multi-instrumentalists of Moongaze use violin, piano, guitar, double bass, hand percussion, and vocal harmonies to craft thought-provoking and uplifting live performances. Their songs are inspired by queer and trans love, social justice, the beauty of the planet and the importance of fighting for its future.
Following an acclaimed festival debut at the Top Half Folk Festival in 2024, alongside performances at Territory Day, the Last Sunday Folk Up, Live on the Lawns, and many local NT venues, Moongaze is touring the continent in 2025, coming soon to a dry river bed near you.
Moongaze is an acoustic singer-songwriter duo from Mparntwe/Alice Springs, spinning songs of love and protest with folky harmonies and poetic lyrics. Grounded in folk tradition, yet inspired by contemporary artists such as the Indigo Girls and Ani DiFranco, the multi-instrumentalists of Moongaze combine acoustic guitar, double bass, piano, violin, hand percussion, and soaring vocal harmonies to create heartfelt duets celebrating queer and trans love, the beauty of our planet and the importance of fighting for its future.
